Accra, May 31, GNA – President of
Parliament, Professor Mike Aaron Oquaye, advised leaders to give priority to
the education of their people because it is the key to development.
He said that the era of firearms was over and that
Education was the means by which nations, cities and communities reached
development.
Professor Oquaye said this when the new
Pe Asagepari II, supreme chief of the traditional region of Navrongo, accompanied
by members of the Navrongo Traditional Council, have summoned him to Parliament.
The visit was to thank the President, the deputies
and Parliament staff for their support during the mourning of Paramount
Chief, following the death of his father, whom he succeeded, as well as his
installation as the new supreme chief of the traditional Navrongo region.
So he advised the chiefs and the people
from the traditional Navrongo area to enjoy the free high school
School policy and school feeding program by sending all their children, especially
girls, at school.
Professor Oquaye called the youth to
respect their elders in communities and that those who have disrespected their
leaders have always had problems with leaders.
He said that the chiefs were the guardians of the
customs, ideas, beliefs, values and traditions of the people.
He therefore urged the new supreme leader
to ensure peace and stability in his traditional region to make his people
proud.
Dr. Pwakwa Manchi, Division Chief of
Manyoro, spokesman for the Navrongo Traditional Council, expressed gratitude
from the traditional council to the president and parliament for the support that they have
provided to the new supreme leader before and during his installation.
He said that the traditional council of Navrongo was
deeply touched by the support of the Speaker and House leaders.

The traditional neighborhood is known in private life as Pe Dennis Aneakwoa Belinia Adda
and was a fire services officer in Parliament from 2000 to 2018
before masquerading as the supreme chief of the traditional Navrongo region.
