National People's Democratic Party (PDP) President Uche Secondus on Tuesday accused the All Progressive Congress, APC, of colluding with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to hold Saturday's presidential and legislative elections.
Secondus claimed that APC and INEC were considering manipulating the register of voters in states sharing borders with Cameroon and the Republic of Niger.
Speaking at the emergency meeting of the National Executive Board of the party, NEC, in Abuja, Secondus said that INEC had set up a large number of voting units on along the border with Cameroon and Niger, with the aim of preparing a platform on Saturday.
According to Secondus: "It is clear that INEC did not actually clean the voters' register before it was published. The register of electors contains the data of deceased electors.
"Permanent voter cards for deceased voters have been printed and distributed throughout the country. We have evidence that more than 1,050,051 deceased voters will vote in this election. The idea of ghost voters corresponds to the nature of this virtual president.
"There has been a coordinated approach to registering foreigners as voters, mainly from Niger and Cameroon.
This is why the INEC has set up as many voting units along the border with Cameroon and Niger.
"As we prepare for Saturday's general election, many sources of information available in PDP show that the All Progressive Congress, APC, in collaboration with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, through its conference room on ICT, has concluded its intention to manipulate the outcome of the Saturday election in the following manner.
