Alex Martey, a member of the presidential staff, promised to win the New Patriotic Party's parliamentary seat in the government, Ningo-Prampram, if he were chosen as the party's parliamentary candidate in the 2020 general election.
Mr. Martey made the comment when he presented his nomination form to the constituency office of the BNP on Thursday.
Alex Martey, 44, is a management consultant who has held several positions at the nuclear power plant.
He is currently working with the Operations Directorate at Jubilee House.
Mr. Martey stated that he was participating in a "rescue mission" of the NPP in the Ningo-Prampram constituency.
