Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr, Editor-in-Chief of New Crusading Gude
The managing editor of New Crusading Gude newspaper, Kweku Baako Jnr, said the former president, John Agyekum Kufuor, deserved to be honored because he had done a lot of work for the Ghanaian media.
On its 70th anniversary, the Ghana Journalists Association paid tribute to former President Kufuor with the title of Champion of Democracy Champions.
They applauded him for his support of the badociation as well as for his efforts in favor of freedom and independence of the media.
Kweku Baako, during a panel discussion on "Kokrokoo", said, "President Kufuor deserves it. . . it's a well thought out decision made by the GJA. . . In terms of broadening the boundaries of free speech and media freedom, it will be difficult to eliminate President Kufuor (former president), President Akufo-Addo and, in the fourth republic, the NPP. ; and so if GJA decides to honor it, it makes sense. "
