President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo badured leaders and inhabitants of the Ahafo region of a better and more promising future after signing the act of attestation and presented the 39 Constitutional Instrument 114 to the President of the Council of Ahafo Chiefs, Nana Ansah Adu Baah to symbolize the creation of the region.
The president also named Goaso, capital of the region, in the northern municipality of Asunafo. He said that 20 million cedis had been allocated to launch the development of the region.
Addressing a group of Ahafo leaders and representatives at the Jubilee House in Accra on Wednesday, President Akufo-Addo told Mr. Evans Opoku Bobie that the current Regional Minister of Brong Ahafo will occupy his post until the appointment of a substantive regional minister.
He added that the Ahafo population had asked successive governments to allocate an area for nearly 40 years, dating back to 1981, but that their efforts had yielded no results.
However, he said he was delighted with the participation in the public hearing in the Ahafo region and said that about 20,203 people had attended the five public hearings held in the D & D region. # 39; Ahafo proposed at the time.

President Akufo-Addo mentioned some of the resources that could be found in the region in the form of gold, diamonds, iron ore and bauxite and said that the region's development potential is clear.
