Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this month left us all with a parcel burning questions. (Watch a clip from the show above.) One of the biggest was the reaction of the royal family, especially Harry’s brother Prince William and his father Prince Charles. Now, more than a week after the interview, Harry has reportedly spoken with them both.

Gayle King, who is friends with Oprah and Meghan, spoke about the aftermath of the interview on CBS this morning Tuesday. According to King, Harry spoke with Charles and William over the weekend, but the conversations didn’t go particularly well.

“I’m not trying to break the news, but I called them to see how they were feeling,” King revealed on the show, by People. “And it’s true, Harry spoke to his brother and he also spoke to his father. The word I was given was that these conversations were not productive. But they’re happy to have at least started a conversation.

“And I think what still upsets them is that the palace keeps saying they want to work in private, but yet they believe these fake stories are coming out which are still very derogatory against Meghan.”

King added that on Tuesday morning no one in the royal family had spoken to Meghan yet.

Viewers were especially curious about Harry’s relationship with his father and brother, as he revealed in the interview that he had recently been somewhat estranged from them. One of the most salient moments of the conversation came when Harry revealed that Charles had at one point “stopped taking [his] “. Asked about his relationship with William – who has long been said to be troubled – Harry replied, “The relationship is space, for now.

Later on the show, King also confirmed that Meghan had evidence to back up any claims she made to Winfrey.

“Meghan has documents to substantiate everything she said during the Oprah interview. Everything,” King said.
