Prinston Pharmaceutical Inc. has issued a voluntary nationwide recall of certain drugs for high blood pressure as a result of the detection of a probable carcinogen for humans.
The company recalled the tablets Irbesartan and Irbesartan HCTZ because of "traces of[s] Unexpected impurity, N-nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA). "
NDEA has been clbadified as possibly carcinogenic to humans.
