Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim has been appointed Acting President of the Convention People's Party (CPP) following the resignation of former President Edmund Delle.

That was in a statement signed by the acting secretary general of the party, James Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr.

According to the statement, his appointment was made by the Central Committee of the People's Party of the Convention, after unanimous acceptance of the resignation of Professor Edmund Delle as president and leader.

Hajia Ibrahim until her inauguration as president and leader of the CPP was the first elected vice-president of the party; and thus, automatically became the candidate to enter the vacancy created by Professor Delle's resignation.

Stating the reason for Delle's resignation, the statement said he was resigning from the presidency of the CPP following "the ancestral call to lead his people as the supreme leader of the traditional Nandom region".

As a result, the party's leaders thought it appropriate to appoint an acting president in his place who would be responsible for coordinating the party's activities.

Therefore, the party congratulated Professor Delle for his role in Professor Naime Edmund N. Delle Chiir VIII and wished him the best in his new leadership duties, adding that he would excel as leader of his people and would have a positive impact on Ghana. in general.
