A private lawyer urged the unrest against the construction of a new Parliament to continue despite attempts to abandon the project following a public outcry.

"I support the demonstration. it helps. This will ensure that next time, before people come up with such expensive and unnecessary projects, they think twice, "said Martin Kpebu at Newfile, a Joy News news program.

Last week, the Parliament of Ghana drew public outrage when it suddenly announced its intention to set up a quite comfortable and versatile room with a capacity of 450 seats for a cost of 200 millions of dollars.

The sporadic bustle that greeted the announcement saw three protesters arrested after screaming from the public gallery "Drop this room".

The three are all members of the Economic Fighters League lobby group – Ernesto Kofi Yeboah, Abeiku Adams and a third who has not yet been identified.

A social media movement # dropthatchamber has announced future events. This is despite the fact that parliament has declared that the idea has been set aside.

Martin Kpebu urged them. "A sustained event," he said, "will also ensure that the project is properly mastered"

"We just want parliamentarians to know that they should put this idea aside for the moment," he added.
