Ghana’s Ashanti Regional Police Command fails to start investigating alleged murder of Ejura

Police want to establish the circumstances surrounding the violent clashes between young people and security personnel.

The clashes left two dead and four injured, as well as a military lieutenant from Ejura, in the Shanati region on Tuesday.

For an internal statement, Deputy Police Superintendent Godwin Ahianyo said:

In the investigation, we made revelations about the incident that took place after the burial of Ibrahim Mohammed Kaak at Mempeasam cemetery for Ejura.

“Some young people in Ejura are blocking the road to provoke traffic, while the police are moving with military reinforcements to calm the situation.

“But angry youths have been charged against security guards with all kinds of tools, including guns, batons, matches and stones.” From police statement add.
