Sudanese military leaders admitted to having ordered the security operation that resulted in the death of at least 100 protesters last week.
Government-backed troops and militia groups traveled to Khartoum, attacking protesters demanding a return to civilian rule, following the withdrawal of former president Omar Al-Bashir.
Fergal Keane, BBC's editor-in-chief for Africa, spoke with witnesses of the violence in Khartoum.
