Paris Saint-Germain has confirmed that coach Thomas Tuchel has extended his contract with the Ligue 1 champions for a new season. His new contract was in effect until 2021.
The German tactician arrived at the Parc des Princes last summer after gaining the reputation of being one of the brightest young managers in Europe during his two-year stint at Borussia Dortmund. .
However, the German, alongside his coaches, extended his contract in the French capital until June 30, 2021.
As quoted by the PSG website, Tuchel said of his new contract: "I am very happy and proud of my extension and my commitment to Paris Saint-Germain.
"Thank you to the President and the entire club for the confidence they have shown me and my staff, which only reinforces my goal: to bring this team to the top of its ambitions thanks to to everyone's work.
"I am also very touched by the supporters' support and I am convinced that the best is coming for our club."
The club's president, Nbader Al-Khelaifi, added: "The whole Paris Saint-Germain family is delighted to see Thomas Tuchel extend his contract, and for the last year, Thomas has been bringing fantastic energy every day, not only to the players but to the whole club.
"Our supporters have immediately adopted this coach who is always eager to share his badysis and emotions with the greatest number.
