Neymar said Monday to PSG leaders that he wanted to leave the club just two years after signing the biggest deal ever reached on Barcelona's exchange for Paris.
The striker is eager to return to Nou camp this summer after apparently telling Nbader Al-Khelaifi – the owner of the PSG – that he regretted leaving.
But his hopes of joining Barcelona could be completely over after the Spanish club rejected his candidacy.
Barca made an offer of £ 40 million, as well as midfielder Ivan Rakitic and striker Philippe Coutinho.
PSG apparently ruled the offer unacceptable, but still wanted Coutinho to be included in an agreement, according to The Team.
The club made no official comment on Neymar's situation, but head coach Tuchel admitted that the star had informed the club before Copa America last month of his willingness to leave.
Tuchel said the decision will now be made by the club and the player on where he will play next season.
"I'm always disappointed when a player arrives late," Tuchel said.
"But it's clear between us, now it's between the club and Ney. We work together.
"Did I know that he wanted to leave? Yes, I discovered before the Copa America.
"But it's something between the club and Ney.
"I'm the coach, he's my player, he's in the locker room, he's my player and I work with him."
PSG has apparently offered Neymar to five European clubs in order to get rid of the unfortunate star.
Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Juventus all had the chance to sign Neymar.
