According to reports, Tuchel would like to see PSG put an end to the midfielder's internal exile, but the coach insisted that nothing had changed.
Thomas Tuchel denied having asked that the missing midfielder, Adrien Rabiot, be reinstated in his Paris Saint-Germain team.
Rabiot has not played for Ligue 1 champions since informing the club in December that he did not want to sign a new contract.
The 23-year contract expires at the end of the season and is strongly tied to Barcelona, while PSG misses his post after his ankle injury by Marco Verratti.
Publisher's choice
Leandro Paredes' signature from Zenit has addressed these issues to some extent, although Tuchel's preference has been to reinstate Rabiot.
Before Sunday's meeting in Lyon, Tuchel presented a united front to his club.
"I did not ask for Rabiot's reinstatement," he told reporters.
"The situation is the same as in November, the club decided to suspend Adrien.
"I can understand the club and I accept this decision. The situation has not changed."
