Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has announced a revised timetable for the 2020/21 second semester end-of-semester exams.

This follows the suspension of industrial action by the Association of University Teachers of Ghana (UTAG) over the weekend.

A statement released by the University, signed by Ms Margaret Dzisi, the Deputy Registrar for Academic Affairs, and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi, indicates that, according to the revised edition, the university had set August 25 to 31. , 2021, as revision week.

The exams at the end of the second semester, according to the press release, had been set for September 01 to 17, 2021.

University authorities have advised students to make an effort to visit the various department, faculty and college notice boards for their respective schedules.

“We urge students and University staff to take note of the arrangements and prepare accordingly,” authorities said.

The academic activities of KNUST and other public universities have been halted since Monday, August 02 of this year, with university professors going on strike to demand improvements in their conditions of service.

As a result, activities related to teaching, exams and supervision, correcting exam papers and processing results have been discontinued to strengthen the position taken by teachers.

UTAG National President Prof Charles Marfo in an interview with the GNA said members are still negotiating with the government to ensure improved well-being.

“We are still in talks with the hope that the authorities will respond to our grievances as soon as possible,” he noted.

For now, UTAG members, he said, had agreed in principle to return to work, effective Monday, August 23, and called on members to comply with the decision taken by the National Executive Committee.
