A local American newspaper won a Pulitzer Prize for coverage of a mbad shot in its own newsroom.
The capital Maryland's Gazette learned Monday that she had won the most prestigious award in American journalism.
The staff gently kissed the memory of five colleagues killed when an armed man broke into their office in June 2018.
The Pulitzers also traveled to the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal to investigate President Trump.
The Annapolis Capital Gazette received a special Pulitzer Prize for its coverage and courage in the face of one of the deadliest attacks on journalists in American history.
The Pulitzer Board of Directors awarded this quote a grant of $ 100,000 to strengthen the journalism of the newspaper.
Employees John McNamara, Wendi Winters, Rebecca Smith, Gerald Fischman and Rob Hiaasen died during the attack last summer.
But the staff still managed to publish a newspaper on schedule the next day.
A man with a long-standing grudge against the capital Gazette is accused of the attack. He pleaded not guilty last year.
Coverage of mbad shootings allowed Pulitzers to be re-read by two other local newspapers.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette received a last-minute award for its "immersive and compbadionate" report on the attack last October in a Pennsylvania synagogue that claimed the lives of 11 people.
And the South Florida Sun Sentinel won a Pulitzer for reporting on the February 2018 mbad shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which killed 17 people.
He received the public service award for "revealing the failings committed by school officials and law enforcement before and after the deadly outburst".
The New York Times has won an award for its explanations on Mr. Trump's finances and tax evasion, as well as another for his writing.
The Wall Street Journal won the national reportage award for revealing the president's secret winnings to two alleged former mistresses during his campaign.
The Washington Post also won two Pulitzers for photojournalism in Yemen and for criticism.
The Reuters news agency has received an award for its investigation into the killing of 10 Rohingya men in a village in Rakhine State, Myanmar.
