QUEENS Park Rangers will cede Loftus Road naming rights to a local charity next season – and ask club fans to choose the organization.

The club, which played for the first time at Loftus Road more than 100 years ago, wants to use the stadium to badist a local organization that has close ties to the region and supporters.

Lee Hoos, CEO of QPR, said, "I spoke with the Fan Advisory Committee, as well as with many individual fans, and I introduced them to this idea.

"We explained how we can use Loftus Road to really help a charity get visibility it could not normally get.

"The message that was conveyed to the fans I talked to was that it was a charity that meant something to the supporters and a local organization that had a positive impact on the community.

"There are so many worthy causes that do incredible things, so the next question was how do we decide which charity to work with?

"I've always believed in the fans' consultation, so it makes perfect sense to let the fans make that decision."

Fans are invited to apply for a charity with Loftus Road denomination rights starting in 2019/20 by taking into account the following criteria:

  • Local nature
  • Has a strong impact on the community
  • Benefit from wider recognition to make his work better known
  • Is the appropriate internal infrastructure in place to leverage the increased awareness and increase the impact of the charity?

The deadline for nominations is Friday, May 3.

The club will then draw up a shortlist of nominations from those proposed, and supporters will have the opportunity to vote for their preferred choice.

To submit your application, please complete the questionnaire below.

The message that was sent back by the fans was that it had to be a charitable organization meaning for supporters.
