(Reuters) – Qualcomm Inc.'s chief financial officer, George Davis, is considering leaving the company, Qualcomm said Tuesday. A person familiar with the situation said that Davis was planning to join his rival Intel Corp.
Davis has been the chief financial officer of the mobile chip vendor since 2013.
"On behalf of the management team, I would like to thank George for his dedicated service over the past six years at Qualcomm," Qualcomm general manager Steve Mollenkopf told Reuters. "We wish him all the best in his future endeavors."
Intel did not immediately respond to the request for comment.
Intel has been without a permanent chief financial officer since January, when Bob Swan, who joined the group as chief financial officer in 2016, was promoted to chief executive of Intel. At that time, Intel had announced the search for a full-time chief financial officer.
Davis and Swan have already worked together. Before joining Qualcomm, Davis was the chief financial officer of semiconductor equipment company Applied Materials Inc., while Intel's Swan was on the board of directors.
