The steering committee of the celebration "Year of Return, Ghana 2019" denied media reports that the American singer R & B would perform at one of their events.
A recent report suggested that Kelly, involved in numerous allegations of badual abuse, had been invited to perform at a concert as part of the Year of Return activities.
However, the steering committee said in a statement that it had not planned such activities. The statement also advised the general public not to consider such publications.
"The Steering Committee of the Year of Return, Ghana, has seen media reports suggesting that the American R & B singer, better known as R. Kelly, is expected to travel to Ghana in the Year of Return activities, "the statement said. I said.
"The committee is not aware of any events in which Mr. Kelly's involvement would have been billed, nor did he have any engagement with the organizers or the event organizers regarding Mr. Kelly's alleged performance in Ghana The committee also did not approve any event starring R Kelly.

R. Kelly announced new tour dates in a tweet on Tuesday, but the tweet was subsequently deleted.
The announcement has promised shows in Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

The singer has been implicated in a new controversy following the recent Lifetime "Surviving R. Kelly" docuseries, which report allegations of abuse, predatory behavior and pedophilia against the singer.
Kelly has always denied the allegations, some of which go back decades.
Kelly's lawyer, Steve Greenberg, told CNN on Wednesday that he "did not believe that's right," when he was asked about the tour's announcement.
In 2017, the #MuteRKelly movement began to encourage radio stations to stop playing the singer's music.
Since then, he has expanded to protest against Kelly's broadcasts and to use various companies, including RCA Records, Spotify and Apple Music, to stop doing business with the singer.
Last month, Kelly and Sony – Kelly's parent company, RCA Records – reportedly agreed to part company.
The singer has continued to book shows in recent months.
In November, the Tampa Bay Times reported that a planned demonstration of Kelly's concert on the campus of the University of South Florida had never materialized.
"If there is anyone here who is afraid of being offended tonight, he has to leave because he is about to become weirder than a mother," said the newspaper during his show.
Kelly's announcement of her new shows has sparked anger and support.
"Let's hope Kelz will do a tour here in Chicago or in the US He has fans who know he's #survivingGroupieLies," tweeted a person.
The German company Eventim promoted two concerts for Kelly in Germany in April.
