Rabies Warning in Escambia County

There is a new rabies warning for the county of Escambia.

According to the Ministry of Health, a raccoon recently attacked a person and tissue samples confirmed that he was suffering from rabies.

The officials did not disclose any information about where this occurred.

They advise to avoid contact with wild or stray animals and to cover garbage or other objects likely to attract wild animals.
