Rabiot a mixture of Pogba, Vidal and Marchisio – Buffon

Adrien Rabiot was congratulated by Gianluigi Buffon, who believes that the appointment of Maurizio Sarri would not be a risky bet for Juventus.

Gianluigi Buffon praised the incredible Adrien Rabiot, saying the midfielder is a combination of Paul Pogba, Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio.

Goalkeeper Buffon has seen closely what Rabiot is capable of during their time together at Paris Saint-Germain, although the latter was blocked from mid-December after failing to sign a new contract.

With his contract being about to expire, the French international confirmed earlier this month that he had had discussions with Juventus about a move to Italy.

And Buffon thinks the Serie A champions would get a player with features similar to some former backgrounds known to Juve, including his compatriot Pogba.

"It's a fantastic mix.It has the physical strength of Pogba, which is like a wardrobe, which has the personality of Vidal and potentially the dynamism of Marchisio," said Buffon in a thorough interview with Corriere dello Sport.

"He's amazing, extremely strong. He needs to improve his timing by approaching his opponent's penalty area, but he can become a player with 10 goals per season.

"He's also a good boy and an excellent teammate."

If Rabiot joins Juve, he could work under the direction of Maurizio Sarri, who should be appointed head of the club.

The former Napoli coach has spent the 2018-1919 season in the Premier League with Chelsea, but is expected to resume work in Italy, succeeding the late Mbadimiliano Allegri at the Bianconeri.

Buffon, a free agent after leaving PSG, is confident that the upcoming appointment is not a gamble. The club has chosen to follow a different path to be able to reign in Europe.

"I have seen how competent President Andrea Agnelli, Directors Fabio Paratici and Pavel Nedved are," he said.

"Those who follow the same path will always get the same results, so Juve is looking for the Champions League and wants to try to break with new pastures.

"It's because the team is really hard to improve. Sarri is not a revolution, nor a bet. It is simply an untested path, a different story. "
