ILKAY GUNDOGAN fears that Mesut Ozil will still compromise the Manchester City title tomorrow.
The 30-year-old Arsenal midfielder was back in the starting lineup of Unai Emery's header for the 2-1 midweek win over Cardiff after being frozen in recent weeks.
And Gundogan thinks this could be bad news for City, which is looking to recover from its 2-1 loss to Newcastle.
Gundogan, 28, believes that his fellow German Ozil could become as important to Arsenal as Kevin De Bruyne is for City if Emery trusted him.
He said: "A player like him, with his enormous talent, I do not think it surprises me, but that many people do not play regularly.
"People still criticize Mesut because they think his attitude on the ground is not good.
"But people find it hard to accept that you can have the most emotional, aggressive type of player, and you have players like him who need that calm for their game.
"It's a bit more elegant and slow, but believe me, it's so hard to defend yourself.
"Everything seems so easy and sometimes you forget to appreciate that sort of thing."
