The management of Radio XYZ, based in Accra, will meet with Legon East police today over the alleged badault on its staff by Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, founder and CEO of Glorious Word and Power Ministry.

Owusu Bempah reportedly stormed Radio XYZ 's offices in Accra on Friday with gunmen accused of mistreating the station' s administrator and other staff members.

He was then invited by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to be questioned about his alleged threats to Radio XYZ broadcaster, Mugabe Maase.

Sending to Citi News, deputy editor of Radio XYZ, Kofi Asamaoh hoped the law would take its course.

I never went to XYZ to fight – Owusu Bempah

Meanwhile, in a live Facebook message, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah insisted he was not going to the police station to fight.

"I do not know this man. the radio station being nearby, so I decided to report the case to the East Legon Police Station. As the Bible says, when a brother hurts you, talk to him and if he does not listen, you go to someone and if he does not listen to you again, you can do what You want to do. As a man of God, I decided to go talk to the manager to tell Mugabe to give up on me. I did not go to Radio XYZ to fight, I went there to plead, "he said.

Owusu Bempah must be arrested for attacking Radio XYZ – GJA staff

The Ghana Association of Journalists has called on the Ghanaian police to "arrest Owusu Bempah immediately and sue him in order to deter himself, his badociates and other like-minded people" from behaving similarly to the future.

"The 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana, by virtue of Article 17 (1), states unequivocally that no one exceeds the law. This constitutional provision must be maintained by reorienting Owusu-Bempah as subject and not as lord of the law. "

The Ghana Association of Journalists also called on Ghana's Christian Council, among others, to "strongly condemn the violent conduct of Owusu Bempah".

Reverend Owusu Bempah has a history of aggression towards presenters and radio hosts, where he had already damaged equipment at Hot FM in Accra, during an interview a few months ago.

He was upset to have been challenged to perform a miracle during an interview in December 2018 and to have damaged a laptop and a studio microphone.

Reverend Owusu Bempah later apologized to Hot FM management.
