A rain storm that hit Kumasi and the major cities of the Ashanti region on Thursday night left many homeless and injured.
The storm that lasted all night trapped an average-aged man in Afful Nkwanta, about a 10-minute drive from Kumasi's central business district, after a billboard sign touched the roof of his car, parked a few meters away.
Some neighbors had to open the top of the car to get the casualty out before taking him to the Komfo Anokye University Hospital (KATH).
Elsewhere in Aboabo and Sobolo, two suburbs of Kumasi, residents had to leave their homes to spend the night with friends.

Before the rainstorm, the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) warned residents of Asawase and Aboabo, especially those on the waterways, to impending disaster.
But as was the case every year, residents take this advice into consideration at first and temporarily leave to relocate once rain has fallen.
Mr. Kwabena Nsenkyire, head of NADMO in the Ashanti region, and officials of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) visited the affected areas, warning that houses built on waterfront yards were being used in the past. water would be demolished.
