(Reuters) – Raja Casablanca defender Badr Banoun won the match in the second half. The Moroccan club defeated Tunisia's coveted Esperance 2-1 to win the CAF Super Cup in Al Rayyan, Qatar on Friday.
African Confederation Cup champion Raja dominated Abdelilah Hafidi 22 minutes later, but hopeful, winner of the African Champions League, equalized just before the hour of play thanks to a goal of the Algerian international Youcef Belaili.
The skipper of Raja Banoun scored the decisive goal with goalkeeper Rami Jridi to win a second Super Cup for the Moroccan team, coached by the French Patrice Carteron.
The Super Cup has been contested between the holders of the African Champions League and the Confederation Cup winners since 1993. It took place off the African continent for the first time this year.
