Ram microphones have been recalled because airbags and seat belts may not work in case of an accident.

DETROIT – Fiat Chrysler recalls nearly 343,000 Ram vans worldwide because the airbags could not inflate in the event of a collision.

The recall concerns the Ram 1500 mainly from the 2019 model year, although the company only has a small number of 2020 models.

According to Fiat Chrysler, a software error may inadvertently disable airbags and a device that tightens the seatbelt before an accident. FCA is not aware of any accidents or injuries and says the problem is rare.

Nearly a third of 2019 US models are still in dealerships.

Most of the recalled trucks are in North America.

Owners will be notified as of July 20th. Dealers will replace the computers that control the airbags or update the software.
