The committee of the annual Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup has been postponed
Saturday, June 15th.
The 5th edition was originally set for
June 8 at Wembley Park, Kotobabi, Accra, but organizers have now
postponed because of the ban on making noise as a result of the Homowo festival.
Mr. Tamimu Issah, the coordinator of the
tournament, said the postponement was due to the ban and the respect that they had
for the Ga Community.
"The Ramadan Cup is a sports festival that
also plays music in the background during the contest, and we realized
that our sound system and address would violate the ban on making noise
within our host community, it is therefore important that we respect the prohibition and
the reporter, "said Issah.
"We coexist peacefully in these communities
it is therefore important to continue to respect each other.
The Ramadan Cup owes its name to a famous
defender of peace, so we do not want to do anything that would lead to
confusion, "he added.
The annual competition would witness 16
the teams in Accra are fighting for the ultimate trophy.
