Ranveer Singh and Naezy take you where it all began

Gully Boylast title of Mere Gully Mein is a tribute to the modest beginnings of local rap artists such as Divine and Naezy, whose stories inspired the film's plot. Mere Gully Mein is illustrated on Ranveer Singh and Naved Shaikh, better known as Naezy. The song could be either for movie specials or a part of the movie's plot when Ranveer Singh's character will eventually realize his dream of recording his song. In addition to Ranveer, rappers Divine and Naezy also hit Mere Gully Mein. Divine and Naezy also composed the song and wrote the lyrics, which seem to be a eulogy on the streets where they grew up.

Gully Boy is directed by Zoya Akhtar and starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Ranveer plays the role of a budding rapper in the slums of Mumbai, who ultimately knows the success. The film stars Alia Bhatt alongside Ranveer Singh. She plays the role of a future medical student, who will not give up the role that parents deem fit for her. It's a rebel.

Outside Ranveer and Alia, Gully Boy stars also Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Vijay Raaz and Amruta Subhash. The film will open in theaters February 22.
