Kumbungu MP for the North, Ras Mubarak, said members of the aid committee beyond Ghana must resign for using the Kenya horizon as a cover for the Charter. help beyond Ghana.
The 61-page document drafted by a committee led by the Chief Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo, was launched by President Akufo-Addo on May 1 with a front page depicting high-rise buildings on a lush landscape.
However, concerns were expressed after one of the buildings represented turned out to be the headquarters of the Dawit Insurance Agency Limited in Nairobi.
The committee issued a statement Friday apologizing for the use of Kenya's skyline as a cover for the aid charter beyond Ghana.
In its statement, the committee stated that it would ensure that the cover page of the charter is replaced before it is distributed to stakeholders.
But Mr Mubarak called the flop an embarrbadment for the nation.
"I feel so embarrbaded and government henchmen should spare us. You see an enthusiastic defense of this very embarrbading spectacle. They tell Ghanaians that we should not worry about the cover of the document; we should focus on the substance. But if you get into the substance, you will even realize that there are a multitude of contradictions. "
According to him, the apologies are too late and reflect the general incompetence of the committee. All members must resign.
"Instead of apologizing to Ghanaians, they should resign … we do not expect this embarrbadment to go unpunished."
