Former Manchester United and West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison is preparing to move to FK Ostersunds in Sweden, according to their technical director David Webb.

Morrison, 26, struggled to make an impact in the current Lazio club after moving to the Italian capital and has played only four league games since 2015.

"OFK can strengthen the team with another player," reads Ostersund's website.

"Ravel Morrison has joined the training camp in Marbella. OFK is currently negotiating with Lazio for a transfer to OFK by Ravel Morrison. & # 39;

Webb added: "We have been in contact with Ravel and his agent for a long time and have been discussing a move. Now he is about to move but we have not signed any contracts yet.

Former England international Under-21, Morrison was a highly regarded young man having climbed the ladder at Old Trafford.

A number of off-road transgressions have so far overshadowed his football career, including a transfer to West Ham in 2012.

Morrison was impressed with several appearances alongside Sam Allardyce, but was eventually on loan to Birmingham, QPR and Cardiff before the shock wave for Lazio was announced.

He spent another temporary period at QPR and was recently on loan to Atlas, on the Mexican side.

The Ostersunds were formed only in 1996 but, under the leadership of Graham Potter – today in Swansea – they were promoted to the Swedish first division and qualified for the Europa League after having won the Swedish Cup in 2017.

They then faced Arsenal in last season's competition and were beaten 4-2 overall despite winning at Emirates Stadium.

His English compatriot Ian Burchnall is the current manager after Potter's departure. Ostersunds finished sixth last season.
