The final funeral rites of late former President Jerry John Rawlings have been postponed indefinitely.

The funeral arrangement was originally scheduled for December 20, 2020.

However, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration to the international community and diplomatic missions revealed a change in schedule.

“… Due to unforeseen circumstances, the funeral will not take place from December 20, 2020 as planned,” the statement said.

He further indicated that “the new date of the funeral will be communicated in due course”.

Former President Jerry John Rawlings died on Thursday, November 12 at Korle Bu University Hospital in Accra after a short illness.
