Nelson Oliveira, new striker from Reading, is excited after being loaned for the rest of the season.

The 27-year-old has signed a contract with the Royals for the last 18 games of the championship and has a mission to help the team stay in the division.

The Portuguese leader has not yet presented this campaign, which has fallen out of favor in Norwich City.

But he says he's determined to fire Royals to survive over the next few months.

"I'm happy to sign with Reading," he said on the club's website.

"I know the league, I play here for two and a half years already.

"It can help me, but I think the most important thing is that I know the players, know my teammates and that I involve them.

"Almost every time I played against Reading, I scored – and I scored good goals.

"I'm going to try to do the same thing, this time scoring for Reading and I'm very happy to start doing it."

Oliveira met his compatriot Jose Gomes, and said the leader had been instrumental in his decision to join Reading.

"I spoke with José and I feel a lot of love for me to come here," added Oliveira.

"It's important for me at this stage of my career, I'm very happy, very happy to be joining Reading.

"I know the style of football played by the manager, it suits me too.He said good things about Reading, about the players, so I was convinced to come.

"The only thing I can promise is that I will work as hard as I can to help Reading and make the fans happy.

"I think that the football that the manager plays is a technical football, it suits my style perfectly.

"I am very happy to start coaching with the boys, meeting all the players and getting ready.

"I do not know many players personally, but I think I played against almost everyone, with some as well.

"I know Mo Barrow, I played with him at Swansea and, of course, Tiago Ilori, he's a Portuguese player I know very well."
