Real Madrid remain determined to sign Paul Pogba this summer despite Manchester United's $ 150 million prize and will sell James Rodriguez to help finance the move, according to the Daily Mail.

Zinedine Zidane wants to add a creative midfielder to his squad and has made it clear to Real President Florentino Perez that Pogba was his favorite target ahead of Christian Eriksen of Tottenham.

The 26-year-old informed United of his wish to leave this summer and his agent, Mino Raiola, said last week that he was "transferring" his client to a new club. Real Madrid, meanwhile, is confident that Pogba would choose before their return to Juventus.

However, United has no obligation to sell Pogba, as it has three years left in its contract and will only let it go if another club reaches the asking price of £ 150 million.

Real Madrid have already paid £ 300m to sign with Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy, Eder Militao and Rodrygo and must now sell players to raise additional funds to continue the move for Pogba.

Although Real struggles to unload Gareth Bale, they are about to sell Rodriguez. The Colombian playmaker is getting closer to a € 40m discount move to Naples where he will be reunited with Carlo Ancelotti.

Rodriguez joined Real for a £ 63 million contract with Monaco in 2014 following a sensational performance at the World Cup in Brazil, but he lost the top of the standings at Bernabeu and was lent to Bayern Munich these last two seasons.

Spain's international winger Lucas Vazquez is another player that Real is actively seeking to sell. Rumor has it that Arsenal would watch him if they can not make a deal with Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace.

Pogba was one of United's top performers last season, scoring 13 goals and 9 badists in the Premier League as the club dropped to a disappointing sixth place.
