Real Madrid landed the Courtois de Chelsea in the summer, paying 35 million pounds to bring the Belgian international to Santiago Bernabeu.
His departure caused a lot of anger among the Blues fans, especially given the strength with which he had to move when the club was reluctant to sell.
The star of Real Madrid aims to deepen her research on Chelsea this week by saying that Marina Granovskaia, the director of Blues, had given up an agreement to sell it last summer.
"The fact that Marina is difficult to negotiate is normal," he said.
"Football people talking about contracts, salaries, transfers, etc., that attract players and eliminate them – they have the hardest job.
"In March, Marina and I had a meeting during which I indicated that I wanted to leave.
"Living in London and the Premier League calendar prevented me from regularly seeing my children, who lived in Madrid.
"After the World Cup, a start was suddenly no longer so obvious. The possible replacements were too expensive. This was not okay."
Courtois, however, does not regret his move to Real because of his beef with Chelsea.
Instead, the Belgian international regrets that it has cost him his relationship with supporters of Atletico Madrid.
Courtois recently paid tribute to Atletico, who will face the Madrid derby this afternoon.
"It's a shame that Atletico fans are now against me," he said.
"Players make decisions based on our career.
"Atletico was the perfect choice when I was young.
"I have lived three fantastic years and I have grown a lot as a footballer and player, but another chapter has now arrived.
"During these three years, I gave everything to Atletico, they can not charge me with that."
Ok Diario says that Courtois cherishes his time at Atletico and feels helpless to prevent an inevitable reaction from the fans.
His plaque in front of the Wanda Metropolitano was vandalized by joining Real in the summer.
And, on his return today, you have to expect a lot of nonsense and jeers.
