Frenchman Zidane was brought back to the Spanish giant after the dismissal of his former coach Santiago Solari after a series of bad results.

Zidane, 46, who oversaw three consecutive Real League titles with Real, overtook Isco for his first start since October and was rewarded when the Spaniard scored in the 62nd minute.

Welshman Bale, also under pressure at Real in recent months, added a second after 77 minutes to restore some pride to Santagio Bernabeu.

Real is third in La Liga, two points from Atletico Madrid and nine points from Barcelona leader.

Real Madrid's Isco shakes hands with Zinedine Zidane, returning for his second spell.

Zidane resigned after last year's Champions League final victory over Liverpool, but club president Florentino Perez asked him to come back this week.

The former Real striker replaced his former teammate Solari, who was promoted to coaching post after Julen Lopetegui was sacked following a bad training period in October.

Zidane has taken over, Real having only a few things to play apart from ensuring his qualification for the Champions League next season.
