In the 88th minute of the match, while Madrid won 2 to 1, Ramos deliberately eliminated the attacker from the home team, Dolberg. Yellow card. In the mixed zone, Ramos suggested taking the express card to miss the second stage in suspension, which would have "cleaned up" his record for a quarter-final tie.
Dani Carvajal has seen himself inflicting an additional ban on a match after being convicted of the same offense last season and UEFA has opened an investigation into the Ramos booking.
But Ramos says he was misinterpreted: "I was talking about giving the blame, inevitable fault, not to force the suspension.
"It was a dangerous counterattack in the 88th minute, open match and tie, which is why I said I would lie if I said I did not know it would end in a ban." In the same way that I knew I had no choice but to blame.
"That's what I was referring to when I said in football that complicated decisions sometimes had to be made.
"[If I wanted to force a ban] I could have done it in the group stage, in the match against Roma, because we were already winners and the last match against CSKA was not important – a match for which I did not not been called. "
