Recap: Fed announces imminent reduction in interest rates

On Wednesday, in our newscast, the US Federal Reserve gave the strong signal that interest rate cuts are imminent. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell said an increasing "uncertainty" in the economy pleaded for a rate cut, which would be the first since 2008. In addition, the US Customs and Excise Border Protection announced that the number of unaccompanied migrant children retained had fallen from 2,700 in June to 200.
