Recap "The Good Doctor": Season 2, Episode 12 – "The Consequences"

This week's episode The good doctor takes place mainly outside St. Bonaventure – but the short time we spend at the hospital should have a lasting impact on the rest of season 2.

In this episode, Andrews confronts Carmen Dunn, a bureaucrat at the Ministry of Public Health, who is questioning how his staff has behaved during the recent quarantine. She tells him that Lim has measured a non-patient without his consent; Melendez ignored a written DNR; and Shaun was a victim of a panic attack in the middle of a medical crisis, which was filmed. She will recommend the three doctors to the state medical board for the suspension of the license.

Carmen also questions Andrews' ability to fully focus on his role as hospital president and chief of surgery. Andrews later confides in Allegra, who shares Carmen's concerns. She thinks the hospital would benefit if Andrews resigned as surgeon and focused solely on his duties as Glbadman's successor.

Elsewhere in the hospital, Melendez and Lim struggle to manage their new personal and professional relationships. At the end of the hour, colleagues become friends with benefits admit that they have feelings for each other and want to explore a relationship outside of work. They agree that it stays that way until they have been released by the state medical council. Andrews out of knowledge as long as possible.

Meanwhile, after undergoing a corrective operation to repair a CSF leak, Glbadman leaves the hospital and accompanies Shaun to lunch at Lea's startup. After eating, Lea and the boys go on a karting tour. At the end of his sprint, Glbadman seems disoriented, but badures them that he feels good. In fact, he feels good. This day of fun encourages Glbady to go ahead with his chemotherapy and follow a much more aggressive treatment program to get "more days than today".

Later, Glbadman asks Shaun if he think Lea will never be more than a friend. Shaun reiterates that Lea is not interested in a relationship. He is good with their current dynamics – or at least he thinks! – until he gets home and meets (breath!) Lea's boyfriend, Luke.

We also make contact with other residents of Melendez during their leave. Morgan, who is still shocked by Tyler's death and could really call on a friend, is pressuring Claire to come for a brunch. At the restaurant, Claire receives a call from her bipolar mother, Breeze (Sharon Leal, return guest), who claims to have been evicted from her apartment. When Claire and Morgan go to her house to help her pack, Breeze admits that she was not actually deported. she lives with a violent boyfriend, Carnell, and must go out before returning home.

Morgan convinces Claire that they should confront Carnell at his workplace, but when they do, they discover that Breeze has lied. In fact, Carnell has suggested to Breeze, and she does not know how to tell her that she is not ready for the wedding. She ends up talking frankly to Carnell in a conversation that takes place on the screen and everything looks fine.

During the day, we learn more about Morgan's past. She carries a gun (!) At any time because she had a stalker at the medical school, it also implied that she had an abusive relationship. At the end of the evening, Claire tells Morgan that she is there for her if she ever wants to open.

Finally, Park, spend the afternoon with Mia and Kellan at the arcade. While Kellan remains busy in the cages, his parents discuss what was wrong with their marriage. he never opened up to her and she finally cheated. Park tells Mia that he is still in love with her and wants to be reconciled, but Mia is slow to accept the idea. She finally agrees to give another blow, and promises to come back for another visit in a few weeks.
