Hope replaces Shimron Hetymer in the West Indies

Australia won the draw and decided to fight against West Indies

Australia captain Alex Carey was able to take the same path as the opener by winning the draw and choosing to strike Barbados first.

Carey was once again leading the team in Aaron Finch’s absence. Australia gave their ODI debut to fast pitcher Riley Meredith in place of Wes Agar.

The West Indies were boosted by the return of goaltender-batter Shai Hope after an ankle injury prevented him from making the opener. He will open the stick in place of Shimron Hetmyer and remove Nicholas Pooran’s gloves.

The West Indies crashed 27 for 6 in the opener against Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood before losing by 133 points.

West Indies 1 Shai Hope (week), 2 Evin Lewis, 3 Darren Bravo, 4 Jason Mohammed, 5 Nicholas Pooran, 6 Kieron Pollard, 7 Jason Holder, 8 Alzarri Joseph, 9 Hayden Walsh Jr, 10 Akeal Hosein, 11 Sheldon Cottrell
