Nearly 43 million Americans are expected to travel this Memorial Day weekend, an increase of 3.6% over last year, according to the American Automobile Association.

According to the global transportation badysis company INRIX, 37.6 million people will travel to their weekend getaway destination, the highest number ever recorded for this trip.
On average, according to INRIX, "travel delays on main roads could be more than three times longer than normal on daily trips.
But according to INRIX badyst, Trevor Reed, travelers should anticipate the delays caused by Memorial Day. "Our advice to drivers is to avoid morning and evening travel schedules or to plan alternative routes," he said in an AAA press release.
