Speaking against the backdrop of some lawless open truck drivers intercepted at 4 p.m. along Ernest Ikoli Street, Old GRA on Monday July 5 and another in New GRA illegally dumping waste, the Sole Administrator of RIWAMA wondered why these recalcitrant truck drivers take pleasure in flouting simple instructions. and rules even when it takes patience for an hour or two until the appointed time and government approved receptacles.
Some, like another culprit caught dumping waste on the Median, well outside the approved receptacle along Azikiwe Road near Government House, Bro Obuah noted that no other reason could have been cause such disgusting actions other than sabotage for reasons known only to them.
He called on all residents not to consider the Agency’s consideration for weakness, warning that henceforth anyone arrested for throwing rubbish and disfiguring part of the state capital and its surroundings will be subjected to the full prosecution process and punished accordingly, while promising to prosecute those caught to deter others who would sabotage the efforts of the Rivers State government to keep Port Harcourt, the state capital and surrounding areas clean.
