The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has indicated it is ready to crack presidential contenders who peak ahead of time and warned that they could face penalties if they do not give up starting the race to advance.
NPP Deputy General Secretary Nana Obiri Boahen, who gave the hint in a radio interview with Accra based Joy FM said the party will not hesitate to crack the whip if the need arises.
However, he said, until the said wannabes formalize and openly publicize their intentions, the party cannot sanction them, as some of these “water test” actions could be done by supporters or even non-members of the party campaigning for these people to show interest.
