Regal Cinemas: unlimited movie ticket subscription of $ 18: details

The country's three largest movie theaters are in the process of setting up movie ticket subscription programs.

Regal Cinemas has launched Regal Unlimited, which gives you unlimited access to standard 2D movies shown in movie theaters. Regal has launched a website for service earlier this week.

The service reflects pretty much what Deadline has outgrown at the beginning of Regal's plans.

For $ 18 a month, you can get Regal Unlimited and have access to more than 200 Regal theaters selected across the country. For $ 21 a month, you can choose Regal Unlimited Plus and have access to over 400 Regals. And for $ 23.50 a month, you can get all Regal Unlimited access and have access to all the Regal in the country.

Other than the number of locations, the plans have the same basic terms.

You can get tickets in advance as soon as they go on sale and you get 10% off refreshments with the service. And, for an unspecified extra charge, you can upgrade any movie to a large format option like 3D or IMAX.

The plan is not paid month by month. Regal requires a 12 month commitment for the service.

Regal is the last of the three largest movie theaters in the country to have launched a movie ticket subscription plan. The Cinemark Movie Club Cinemark was the first to offer a plan: $ 8.99 per month for a ticket in standard format and some benefits. The list of CMA Stubs titles costs $ 19.95 per month (or $ 21.95 or $ 23.95 in various parts of the country) and allows you to watch three movies a week.

MoviePbad, the start-up that launched the craze for movie tickets in the country two summers ago, has been closed since July 4 due to "technical problems," according to the company. But many subscribers had already abandoned it. Business Insider announced in April that the number of subscribers had dropped from over 3 million to around 225,000, according to internal data disclosed.
