Forget about narrow cabins and fights in a cruise lineup, Kiwis will be able to travel in what is claimed to be "the most luxurious sea resort in the world".
Perched on the fourteenth deck overlooking the prow of the ship, the Regent Suite on the Seven Seas Splendor costs $ 16,000 a night and is larger than most homes, with its 278 square meters, with an additional 120 sqm of wraparound decks.
This two-bedroom suite includes a well-stocked bar, a glbad-enclosed solarium with a captain's view of some of the most beautiful destinations in the world, and its own "spa" including a sauna, steam room and unlimited spa treatments.
Customers sleep in a hand-made Vividus bed by the Swedish manufacturer Hästens worth $ 290,000 – it takes 18 months to manufacture. They can wash in a shower with ocean views from floor to ceiling. The clothes are hanging in the wardrobes.
Gold chandeliers, sculptures and expensive artwork adorn the rooms.
A personal butler coordinates spa services, daily activities and prepares badtails at the personal bar. A car, its driver and its personal guide, coordinated by the butler, wait at each port.

The suite's guests – who are sold for almost all crossings by 2020 – also have exclusive access to an additional private dining room where they can hold a badtail or enjoy a selection of fine cuisine in the steakhouse or the modern French restaurant.
A pre-trip concierge takes care of personalized details, including dressing the bed with favorite sheets and pillows, acquiring the preferred perfume and ensuring that branded bath and skincare products are selected by customers are ready.
The ship makes its maiden voyage next February with cruises in the Caribbean, Panama, Cuba, the Mediterranean, Miami and northern Europe.
Sister ships the Navigator, the Mariner and the Explorer already offer cruises between Auckland and Bali, Sydney, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Seven Seas Splendor also offers 375 suites with balconies ranging from the 28 sqm Veranda Suite suite.
When opening reservations for the ship in April of last year, the company said it had had its best day of booking in 26 years of the brand's history .
Seven Seas Splendor will be the fifth ship of the company and its fleet will increase to six in 2023.
