The High Commission of Namibia has encouraged citizens of this country residing in Ghana to take part in the additional voter registration exercise, which is scheduled to take place from July 8 to 27 this year.
The High Commission said that by exercising its right to vote, voters would be able to take part in Namibia's upcoming presidential and legislative elections, which will be held on November 13, 2019 in the country's missions to the country. abroad and on November 27, 2019 in Namibia.
A statement issued on July 4 in Accra and signed by Namibian High Commissioner Charles B. Josob urged all Namibians residing in Ghana, Benin, Sierra Leone, Togo, Côte d'Ivoire in Burkina Faso and Liberia to register for the High Commission in Ghana.
The exercise is an opportunity for Namibians living outside the country who have never registered, as well as those who have reached the age of 18 and those who have lost their voter registration card.
He added that the voter cards obtained in the 2014 elections remained valid and usable for the November general elections.
"All Namibian citizens aged 18 and over must exercise their democratic right and participate in national elections on that date," he added.
