A graduate of the Gunners Academy, Nelson, who is currently part of the Under-21 England team for Euro 2019, said: "Arsenal is my main goal.
"After the Euros, I will try to come back in pre-season, I am very strong and I hope to play for the team that I love.
"I did not talk to him [Arsenal boss Unai Emery] again.
"The recruiting team said I had to focus on the euros and we would come back to Arsenal later."
