JOHANNESBURG – The religious services of the controversial pastor Sheppard Bushiri, currently in custody, are reportedly expected to resume today.
The services were suspended following the deaths of three people at the end of last year during a debacle.
After receiving a certificate of compliance last week, the church said services would resume today.
But it was before his leader Bushiri and his wife were arrested for fraud and money laundering.
The church could not be contacted to confirm whether the offices would actually run as planned today.
After the arrest, they issued a statement urging members to seek divine intervention on behalf of Bushiri.
The couple was arrested on Friday for charges of fraud, money laundering and violation of the 2015 Organized Crime Prevention Act.
They will be appearing tomorrow in front of the Pretoria Commercials Criminal Court.
