Texas Tech got its ticket for the national championship by eliminating MSU. Unfortunately for the Raiders, Virginia was very hot and just defeated an Auburn-inspired team that was without its best player at the end of the season. The big game was won by OT, the Cavaliers being crowned champions for the first time in their history.
