• report any suspected cases of Ebola via the Ministry's toll-free number 114, titled Police at 112, community health workers or any nearby health facility;
• If you know someone who comes from an area affected by the Ebola virus, report it immediately to the police on 112, to the Ministry of Health on 114, to the nearest local authorities or to health workers. community;
• avoid contact with blood and body fluids, objects that may have been in contact with the blood or body fluids of an infected person;
• Avoid contact with the body of an Ebola victim and / or meat from an unknown source;
• Counsel anyone who has been in contact with a patient with symptoms of Ebola or who has attended a burial ceremony of a known Ebola case to immediately go to the center of closest health for urgent medical care;
• Always wash your hands with soap and clear water.

The Ebola virus is transmitted through the bodily fluids of an infected person such as blood, vomit, sweat, tears, saliva, urine, excrement, sperm, bad milk, badl secretions, etc. vomiting, rash, red eyes, stomach upset and bleeding through different parts of the body. Ebola is not airborne.

All stakeholders, including the general public, local authorities, media companies, civil society, the private sector, such as local and regional transport companies and hotels, need to work together to ensure that the disease does not spread in Rwanda.

Screening is carried out on all borders and airports and the country is equipped with an emergency treatment center built in Rugerero sector, Rubavu district, for the detection and treatment of Ebola virus in case of epidemic . Simulation exercises were held at the Gisenyi-Rubavu District Hospital, the Rwanda-Kigali Military Hospital, the Rugerero-Rubavu Health Center and the Kamembe Airport in Rusizi. .

In partnership with WHO, the DRC Ministry of Health and other partners, the Ministry of Health continues to build national capacity for early detection and containment should a case develop in Rwanda. Rwanda has trained more than 23,657 people, including doctors, nurses, hospital staff, police officers, Red Cross volunteers and community health workers. The ministry also vaccinated approximately 3,000 health care providers and other front-line workers (safe burial teams, security guards and cleaners) in 15 high-risk districts.

Rwanda's Ebola control capabilities also include community awareness and mobilization, logistics, the Ebola treatment center, the development of Ebola-related workforces and the fight against Ebola. capacity building in case management, infection prevention and control, contact tracing teams, landfills, psychosocial teams and surveillance with national capacity to detect / test any suspected case identified in the country.

Public awareness and community mobilization are still underway on Ebola symptoms, prevention measures and the steps to be taken if an Ebola case is suspected at community meetings, for example. awareness events and media. Billboards and posters containing information on Ebola are hung in border areas, hotels, schools, hospitals, health centers and other public places in high-risk areas.
