Rigworld Training Center (RTC), an indigenous Ghanaian company, has signed an accreditation partnership with the Regional Maritime University (RMU) to train its staff to the rules of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). .

The accreditation partnership that aims to train people in IMO's mandatory short-term courses that RTC will facilitate.

The partnership was signed by Professor Elvis Nyarko, Vice-Chancellor of the RMU and Kofi Amoa-Abban, Director of the RTC.

Courses offered as part of the training program include Basic First Aid, Personal Survival Skills, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities, Basic Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, International Ships, Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) ).

The RTC will use this opportunity to exploit new training programs that would not conflict with the current training offered by the RMU for the benefit of both institutions.

The RMU is an international institution owned by the Republics of Cameroon, The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone as part of the Maritime Organization of West Africa and Center (MOWCA). The overall objective of the RMU is to promote regional cooperation in the maritime sector by focusing on training to ensure sustained growth and development of the sector.

The RTC, on the other hand, is an indigenous Ghanaian company accredited by various international organizations to train people and students in safety and survival techniques in the oil and gas industry.
